You will acquire skills that are in demand on the job market, including accessing, organising, and communicating knowledge; questioning statements; and developing a critical mode of thinking.
You will formulate your own research questions and practise your research skills. You will be able to present complicated issues in an understandable way, and communicate them to different target groups.

In Graz, the courses offered cover the period from the Middle Ages to the 21st century. You can specialize geographically and thematically: from Austria to Central Europe, the Mediterranean region and Latin America; from gender history to economic and social history. This gives you a broad overview as well as specialized knowledge. During your studies, you'll also take courses in Ancient History in the Department of Antiquity. And you can acquire still further skills by choosing your extension subject or a special option in cultural management.
