Millet, Amy, MA, BA
Amy Millet is a Fulbright U.S. Student Award-winning historian. She is a doctoral student at the University of Kansas and leads the research project “Culinary Concoctions of Austrian Identity in Habsburg Europe during the Long Nineteenth Century.” The project is located at the interface between gender history, national identity (Austria) and food studies. She is particularly interested in concepts of “being a woman” in the 19th century and how these manifested in both culinary and (pre-)political practices. Through the intersectional linking of gender, class, nationality and ethnicity, her work makes a unique contribution to Austrian nutritional history.
