Louise Earnshaw
Incoming Junior Fellow

Earnshaw, Louise, MSt, BA
Louise Earnshaw is a historian of gender, society, and the First World War. Having earned both their undergraduate and Masters’ degrees at the University of Oxford, Louise is now a doctoral student in the School of Languages, Cultures, and Societies at the University of Leeds. Their research aims to understand the ways in which violence and trauma were experienced and understood by men and women in Germany and Austria during the First World War and Interwar period. Louise is primarily interested in the experiences of non-combatants and auxiliaries, and how they are able to reconcile their own lived experiences with the memorialisation of the war. Louise will join the Elisabeth-List Fellowship Programme for Gender Research as an incoming Junior Fellow in June 2022.
